Level 1 Award in Awareness of Mental Health

The Level 1 Award is intended for individuals with limited knowledge of mental health who wish to understand its effects better. It does not train you to be a mental health first aider, but provides foundational knowledge to improve responses and discussions about mental health in various settings.

This level 1 course will cover:

  • Defining mental health

  • Comprehending the stigma associated with mental health

  • Identifying the various factors that can impact an individual's mental health

  • Initiating discussions regarding mental health

  • Recognising the significance of listening skills

  • Understanding the concept of stress

  • Gaining insight into common mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, suicide, self-harm, eating disorders, and psychosis.

Please note, this course is required to have a minimum of 6 learners and up to a maximum of 16 learners.
