Mitie

Background

Mitie came to Red Umbrella in 2022 while in search for a person-centred professional body to support with staff and client counselling and wellbeing.

Solution

We started our journey with Mitie with its prison bids, putting together a package of mental health options including specialised training and counselling services for Mitie to add as part of its bid. We have since provided a fully bespoke platform, which Mitie can use for all its MHFAiders and to keep track of staff training, the platform also has bespoke resources included, as well as data capture and much more. Red Umbrella delivered MHFAider training for several departments as well as bespoke training for its specialised removals team (escorting prisoners in the country and out of the country) and immigration team, providing group support for staff following an accident involving a coach crash, decompression sessions following a potentially difficult removal case, and individual counselling and therapy where its current EAP could not provide the right level of support.

Results

An initial first meeting has since led to an effective relationship that has grown in scale and scope over the last 18 months, with Mitie’s staff now feeling supported, valued and invested in. The Red Umbrella team worked to truly understand the business and then adapted our skillset and provision to meet its needs with a collaborative approach. This has ensured that we have been able to provide the most appropriate and bespoke training and support.

What The Client Said

"I first met Red Umbrella in 2022.  At the time I was focused on finding a  person centred, professional body to support  with staff and client counselling and wellbeing. An initial first meeting has since led to an effective relationship that has grown in scale and scope over the last 18 months.

"Red Umbrella now support us in a wide range of activities ranging from staff Mental Health First Aid Training, staff decompression sessions (group and individual), staff resilience training and prisoner counselling services and are fundamental to how we support staff and clients. The feedback we have had from our staff group reinforces the reason why we continue our work with Red Umbrella.

"Staff feel supported, valued and invested in. The best thing about Red Umbrella is that they make a conscious effort to understand our business and then adapt and mould their skillset and provision to meet need. This responsivity is what makes them stand out in their field of work.

"They have an overtly collaborative approach which ensures that, together, we have been able to provide the most appropriate and bespoke training and support. Their Care Coins payment system also means that, in a work environment that changes regularly, we still get value for money in terms of the services rendered as they can be flexed to meet changing need.  I, and my work environment, have benefitted from their expertise, skills and knowledge."

Sarah - Mitie Care & Custody

"Since we first started working with Red Umbrella, the level of care and support that they have provided us with as a company has been excellent. The bespoke nature of their services, their flexibility and patience, the quality of their trainers and therapists; every stage of our partnership has been seamless and effective.

"Tim, Nathan, and the team have focused on providing a solution based on us as a company and our needs, rather than handing us a ready-made product.

"Thanks guys!"
