We believe in a commitment to continuous flexibility and learning, building robust partnerships with our clients to fully understand their needs and implement the right solutions. Read on to find out more about how our approach benefits our partners.
Bespoke solutions above everything else
As well as safeguarding employees and being a highly effective resource in educating people and reducing stigma, mental health training can help businesses protect organisational function and foster growth in progress and capability.
However, employers can’t simply rely on performative or ineffective statements and actions to ‘tick a box’ in an attempt to display an effort to address the issue. They must implement a bespoke training strategy to solve specific mental health issues in their business. These will be entirely unique to the business and the industry it operates in, which means off-the-shelf solutions are much less likely to have a positive impact.
That's why we begin by building a holistic understanding of a company’s needs and objectives, and work collaboratively with the right stakeholders to devise training solutions tailored to the business’s goals and the challenges it is experiencing.
There are companies that have much higher suicide rates than others, often due to the industry they operate in, and some where employees appear to be happy, but there are underlying issues that are not being addressed. Or, there may have been a specific incident in a workplace that has given rise to particular issues or needs.
Solutions can include suicide awareness training, Mental Health First Aid training, sexual harassment training, line management training, coping with change training such as to tackle concerns about AI or an upcoming merger, for instance. Some employees may respond better to face-to-face training, while global businesses may be in need of virtual training solutions to unite their multinational workforce.
Building partnerships
Red Umbrella is committed to building long-term partnerships with employers: we are devoted to the provision of genuine care to the users of our services, with ongoing communication and support being prioritised. As part of this, we recognise the significance of solid connections.
Our mission is to place businesses on a path to success by helping them create supportive working environments for their staff through training and mental wellbeing services.
We highlight the ways in which mental health presents a risk to employers through reduced productivity, lost working days, and difficulty attracting new talent, working with businesses to reduce these risks while making a positive difference.
Reducing stigma and educating businesses
Despite positive advancements in talking about mental health, we believe there is more work to be done. Red Umbrella was founded to change the status quo, transforming negative attitudes and perceptions towards mental health at work, and beyond.
Through our training services, consultancy, and specialised courses, we are committed to debunking the harmful myths and stigma surrounding mental health, encouraging healthy conversations in the workplace, and changing old-school ways of thinking.
We understand that many employers may not have the knowledge required to change things for the better in their workplace, which is why we offer consultancy services to empower them to take the necessary steps.
Promoting the importance of aftercare
At Red Umbrella, we strongly believe in the importance of offering aftercare for those within an organisation who have accepted the responsibility of supporting their colleagues’ mental health.
Mental Health First Aid is an exceptional resource, providing vital mental health support in the workplace much like physical first aid does for physical health. However, this responsibility can also be challenging and overwhelming for some.
Red Umbrella is the only company in the UK that provides aftercare with all of our courses, offering employees a comprehensive, person-to-person aftercare and support package free of charge, for one year. This support isn't provided by bots or AI, but rather through genuine care from genuine humans, each with a strong understanding of the importance of mental health and a dedication to supporting your team.
