Background
Red Umbrella worked with a charity at the heart of farming by providing expert mental health and wellbeing support, as well as financial, emotional and practical help to the charity for farming people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. With mental health support being a key part of its offering, this farming client needed a partner to help provide reliable services that are tailored to the needs of the farming industry.
Solution
To meet the needs of the charity, Red Umbrella provided mental health training and a counselling and therapy service to anyone working in the agricultural sector for the charity. This also includes face-to-face therapy and home visits for those who can’t get away from their farm to visit a therapist. Farmers also received an additional year's aftercare support because of the high-risk nature of their industry.
Results
As part of its partnership with this client, Red Umbrella provided bespoke mental health counselling and training to the farming industry to ensure farmers can talk to people who understand the issues faced in the industry, all while allowing the farming community to access support quickly and without barriers.
